Sweltering

It is only 11:00a.m. but already 90°. My body will be immersed in this ol' stock tank shortly. Except for the occasional Sac. Co. Sheriff's 'copter flying overhead, it is a pretty private swimming hole. It is also ecconomical: does not require a pool guy (hey wait! Damn!) nor higher taxes for "improvements", nor a life guard (damn again!). when not in use it is covered with a blazing blue tarp to keep the riff-raff and leaves out. I don't have to share with wild children, grumpy old farts, nor boozed out teenagers. Nobody pees in my pool. Life is good.

the tank is the perfect size..my neck rests on one edge and my heels on the opposite, and my bigger than a breadbox body sinks gloriously down in the middle. Heavenly!

Your garden looks great. Your watermelon is so much bigger than mine. I wonder if mine will have time to mature? Cute blog. Oh and the heat is killing me. At least the beginning of June was not nearly as hot.

Photo of you in the pool!

Ange, this is a "fun" blog, not a HORROR blog. (else I would have taken a picture of my copiously bleeding finger last night and posted that.)

I love stock-tank ponds, but I hadn't yet thought of one for the gardener. How fun! I would love to see a picture of you lounging in it, feet propped on one end, cowboy hat pulled down low on the other.

What happened to the plants and the one fish?

EAL, the fish and the plants were in the much smaller Silver Pond...and I don't know what happened to them.
Must have been a raccoon. The plants and some more mosquito fish have been keeping the one remaining mosquito fish company in the cleaned out mini Silver Pond. the Big Silver Pond is currently empty but at the ready for the next sweltering day. And so it goes on Silver Pond. (was that a groan?)

I don't know the thought of a "pool boy" does bring to mind a few thoughts that make me smile ;o)
